When making this board, I was considering the idea of having a seperate forum for Billboard Chart discussions and maybe another for iTunes ones. Now, iTunes only really has one chart that's discussed regularly whereas Billboard has a lot of discussion topics so I think it might be worth it to have a forum for at least Billboard.
Any thoughts and ideas can be discussed here.

The Billboard one is a good idea.
What about the general artist discussion being divided by letters A-J and K-Z once again?

I've always thought a forum for Fan Wars would be a good idea to keep posters from trolling the rest of the board.

I don't know about an iTunes forum. In my own vision, it would be good because there would separated topics for each countries like U.S. iTunes updates, U.K. iTunes updates and etc which would look way more organized. However, in the end of the day, I see the U.S. iTunes having all the attention and the others fully with spider web and dust.

Also, How about a forum for songs that technically are released in one-form (ie. iTunes releases) but aren't released to a specific radio format? Should there be a forum for promo-releases or songs that have videos but aren't radio singles? This is still a radio-centric message board.

If they still happen to be promo singles the starter could just add that information to the thread when created.

There's several songs that I'm charting that deffo don't fit the guidelines here. Songs by Lara Fabian, Sarah McLachlan and Simon Curtis for example.

I think the Billboard one could work, but let's see what the others have to say.

Well, we could extend the boundaries that Non-Singles / Album Tracks could serve. Maybe have it be Non-Singles / Album Tracks / Promo Singles? For songs that aren't radio-specific.

ALSO
What are people's thoughts about a sub-forum in the Dance forum? I know it's not really a BUSY forum but for organization purposes, a sub-forum for remixes of non-dance songs?

ALSO What are people's thoughts about a sub-forum in the Dance forum? I know it's not really a BUSY forum but for organization purposes, a sub-forum for remixes of non-dance songs? The Dancing Queen is here! We tried that for a time at the original PMB for a year or so but it proved unpopular among many of the regulars. It became a sticking point for many of the members as people would get scolded for posting in the wrong sections. It might work better to keep it combined. As one of the most active posters in that section, I might ask that a moderator be assigned to that section (I would be willing to fulfill that duty). Powers could be restricted to maintaining order and locking in just that section to minimize concerns of power abuse or other issues. At the original board, sometimes days would go by without any staff checking in. Obviously staff can't look at every single thing that is posted there at every minute of every day and users need to notify the staff of obvious problems. But the dance section could be thought of as a separate forum the way the Country section is. At the end of the day, it's the staff's final decision.

Absolutely! That will be kept in mind as well.
I think for now, as members may trickle in, we'll see how things work out as far as who's needed and stuff and whether we need new moderators, and which of the old ones decide they want to stay in.

I would change the General Music News forum to something about the Billboard charts, since all that really gets posted there is HDD, Billboard, and Soundscan numbers anyways

I don't think Fan Wars is a good idea because it both promotes that type of posting and defeats the purpose of having discussion in the first place.

I don't think Fan Wars is a good idea because it both promotes that type of posting and defeats the purpose of having discussion in the first place. I recommend adding a rule the prohibits and/or regulates the out of control 'my artist is better than your artist' discussions which were a regular thing at the other board, especially in the Your Opinion Please section. Reasonably civil discussion that doesn't devolve into a flamewar with name calling and insults would be fine.

I'd agree. I think it was somewhat a rule before just not really enforced because it was so regular but I think it will/should be something to bring in either on the old pulse or here. Strict warnings and that sorta thing.

Even if the original board is able to be restored to the state it was before the hack, some of these new rules/suggestions could be implemented.

I think with this fresh board some lesser used sections should be condensed....smooth jazz, etc
